Deep frying bacon, enclosing your meat with strips of bacon, baking your bacon, making bacon flavored ice cream--there are so many wonderful recipes you can use with bacon. All of these different approaches can appeal to your senses in unique ways and satisfy your cravings. However, the best thing you can do for your bacon is to cook it in the proper way to enhance the flavor.

Some people prefer their bacon to be burned, some like it soft like chewing gum, while others want a happy medium. Depending on what your style is and how you like to eat bacon, depends primarily on how you cook it. It also depends on the recipe. You might not want burnt bacon wrapped around your chicken cordon bleu, as it will destroy the flavor of the chicken. You also probably don't want hot bacon strips dissolved in your cold bacon ice cream.

If you want a happy medium, to where you can cook your bacon just right, without being too crispy or too gummy, the process if simple. Place a few bacon strips in a medium saucepan, while turning the heat on high. Fill up the pan with enough water to fully cover your bacon strips. By covering the strips with water, you are ensuring your bacon won't burn or get too crispy.

Don't worry, as the extra water won't make your bacon soggy. After all, we all want moist and juicy tasting bacon. What the water will do, is it will preserve that tender bacon flavor we all regularly crave. The water will then slowly start to boil, at which this point you can turn down the heat from high to medium. The water is going to eventually evaporate, and once it does, you will then know that this is your cue.

As soon as the water completely depletes from the pan, turn down the heat some more to medium-low. Cook until your bacon strips are tender, and not too soggy, but also not too crispy. Then once you get to this point, take a paper towel and pat down the bacon to try and remove any excess grease.

And VoilĂ ! Enjoy your mouth watering strips of bacon, cooked perfectly to please your palate. Now that you know the best kept secret into cooking bacon, share this with your friends and family so they too can learn the secret to cooking the most perfect strip of bacon.
