Everyone loves a unique holiday treat, but not everyone has the baking expertise (or time) to create such a desert. You would typically spend precious time in the grocery store, trying to find the right ingredients for your dish, and then more time in your kitchen putting it all together. Not everyone has the time, especially during the holidays, to spend making intricate deserts. This holiday, make something unique, delicious and easy.
Try your hand at making some no bake chocolate Oreo balls for your next gathering. These last minute, no-bake cookies are perfect for bakers and non-bakers alike! They only require a few, easy ingredients.
- 1/2 bar (113 grams) of room tempertaure cream cheese
Start by placing the cookies in a plastic bag, and securely closing. Crush the cookies until they are all broken down into small pieces. Then, place the crushed cookies in a mixing bowl, and add the cream cheese. Stir the cookies and cream cheese together, until they are well combined. You can use an electric mixer in this step if that's easier for you.
Next, take a heaping teaspoon of the cookie mixture out of the bowl, and roll it in your hands to form a ball.
Then, place the ball on a parchment-lined baking sheet, and repeat until you've filled the sheet. Put the baking sheet in the freezer to set for about 15 minutes.
Next, place your white chocolate in a double boiler to melt it down. This should take about five minutes. Don't forget to stir frequently! Once the white chocolate is melted, take the balls out of the freezer and place a toothpick in the top. You'll now dip each ball into the white chocolate, using the toothpick to hold on to. Be sure to cover the entire cookie ball with the chocolate.
Once the ball is covered in white chocolate, place it back on the parchment paper to set. Take some extra cookie crumbs, and dust the top of the cookie balls for added decoration. Let the cookie balls sit for a few minutes to harden before enjoying.
