The fall season brings cooler temperatures, and with that, it signals the start of a different sort of season. For thousands of years, humans have chosen their meals based on seasonal foods. During the fall and winter months, hot chocolate and hearty stews are great for keeping the shivers at bay.
Now that the fall season is in full swing, it's time to try a new slow cooker recipe that the entire family will love. Zuppa toscana is one of Olive Garden's most popular dishes and now you can make it at home right in your Crock Pot.
Chop up one onion and mince the garlic cloves. To peel the garlic cloves, smash it with the back of a knife first. They'll slip right out! Place both the garlic and onions on a plate, and set it aside.
Strip the kale leaves off of its top. You don't have to pick them off the stem a little bit at a time - there's a quick way to just strip it off! Wrap your fingers around the bottom of the stem, and holding your fingers tightly as you move your hand towards the top of the stem. The leaves will pop right off!
